MEET ELIZABETH

Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor

Elizabeth Cosgrove is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor.  She received her master’s degree in clinical counseling from Texas A&M University-San Antonio. She has been working in the mental health field for over 10 years and has experience working with different populations. 

 

Elizabeth works with both adults and adolescents. She has experience treating the following: trauma, anxiety, depression, interpersonal issues, grief and loss, stress and phases of life issues. She uses evidence-based practices in her work such as, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Skills training. Elizabeth is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), she uses this modality treat trauma along with many other issues.  She is also certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy, which is a therapy aimed at reducing systems of PTSD.  In the therapeutic process, Elizbeth believes in radically accepting clients where they are and helps them navigate current life circumstances with compassion. She believes that physical health and mental health go hand-in-hand so she advocates for a mind and body approach to therapy.

 

Elizabeth’s desire to help others led her to pursuing a career in the counseling profession. 

 

Elizabeth enjoys running and recently completed her first full marathon and is hoping to run another.  When she isn’t working, she enjoys reading, traveling, spending time with her family and her tripod pup, Lt. Dan. Her current goals are to continue to serve clients and to help future counselors grow in the counseling field.
