MEET JAKE
Licensed Master Social Worker at Fit Therapy of Texas
Supervised by Jessica Macias, LCSW-S

Hello, I'm Jake Ledesma. With over eight years of dedicated experience in social work and a genuine commitment to holistic wellness, I offer a unique background in assisting vulnerable populations. My expertise spans supporting children and adolescents who have endured trauma, aiding families seeking mental health wellness and resources, and advocating for the LGBTQIA+ community. In 2023, I obtained licensure from the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council and completed my Master of Science in Social Work at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Before this, I earned my bachelor’s degree in social work with a minor in psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas.
My counseling approach integrates evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based practices, and motivational interviewing. By incorporating a holistic approach addressing the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual dimensions of well-being, I empower individuals on their journey toward healing. Committed to professional development, I hold certifications in Trauma Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, Social Determinants of Health, Cultural Intelligence, and Violence Prevention and Intervention. Outside therapy, I direct a local Non-Profit, advocating for workplace cultures prioritizing mental health wellness. My dedication extends to becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-S) to train future social workers in supporting our community's mental health needs. In my leisure time, I enjoy hiking, connecting with nature, and exploring space and astronomy, finding solace in the universe's vastness and human potential.
