The New Year is an exciting, fun and inspiring time to think of all the possibilities 2015 has to offer. For many, this is a time for New Year resolutions. While resolutions may be created with the best of intention without a plan they rarely work. To give yourself a better chance of keeping your resolutions, create goals.
Start by writing down your goals. Ask yourself:
What do I want to do in 2015?
What changes would I like to make?
What will I do to reach this goal/s?
What obstacles may occur? How will I face these?
Next, create short-term goals for this month and next. Short term goals are very important because they instill confidence and create that “snowball effect” that you want to keep going to reach your long-term goal. Third, develop your plan to reach your goals. For example, if you are trying to lose weight this may include talking with a fitness expert on how to reach your goals. Most importantly, don't let your hopes for this New Year remain as just hopes. Make a plan, take action and stay committed to making it happen.
