5 Reasons to NOT put your mental health on the back burner
We've all done it...neglecting our mental health because other people need you to be 'strong and keep it all together', just have to push through because that's what you have always done, or you lack awareness of your mental health needs.
When you neglect or lack awareness of your mental health needs, you may try and cope the best way you know how with methods such as drinking, overeating, retail therapy, etc. Often times this is done to avoid or not feel our feelings.
If you can relate or have done this before, taking time for your mental health is necessary and important! In fact, meeting with a counselor can help you learn about yourself and how to best take care of yourself.
